UGLY B FINDS HAPPY PLACE IN THE WORLD

The original sketch - quite ugly in my ugly lined notebook - of the Beacon Gear logo.

Beacon Gear will be specializing in super cool guitar and gig bags (coming soon).

This made for a particularly happy Monday morning. That evening I flushed out the 'B' in Illustrator to suggest the shape of a guitar, but highly stylized to keep it contemporary. By taking out two chunks of the of the B's left side it made if feel even more modern and less cumbersome. The type portion of the logo was already resolved the weekend before after a type exploration marathon. I have, however, tweaked the letterforms obsessively since the original design (for another post).
